Gainza National High School
Introduction
“Teaching is more than imparting knowledge, it is imparting change. Learning is more than absorbing facts, it is acquiring understanding.” –William Arthur Ward
Off-campus teaching is the highest stage of challenge to all education students. A much awaited time to fulfill the four years scholastic competence. It is also the time to practice the chosen profession into the real field, a way of putting into reality the skills, strategies and theories that educators studied for almost four years in college. Off-campus teaching is both an opportunity and a responsibility to all the student teachers to manifest and showcase their talents and skills as full-pledge teachers. It is not only about sharing knowledge but also inspiring, motivating, and influencing the learners.
This year’s off-campus teaching highlighted the e-portfolio (Electronic Portfolio). It is a compilation of all documents of practice teaching which includes student teachers and cooperating teachers profile, instructional materials, assessment tools, extension activities and a lot more soft copies of documents. Thus, e-portfolio is simply one of the big changes and innovations of the 21st century academe.
This e-portfolio is a product of persistence and hardship of the student teachers assigned in Gainza National High School. This is the latest version redesigned and improved from the last year’s wix account. Moreover, the ST’s of GNHS (2016) are delighted to present this inclusive E-portfolio to the dean, chairpersons, and supervisors of the College of Development Education of Central Bicol State University of Agriculture.
Finally, the documents included in this e-portfolio are the evidences of practice teaching journey and a remembrance of all remarkable experiences, accomplishments and involvements of GNHS student teachers this school year 2015-2016.
